A brief about us
Absolute Ballroom is run by two professional ballroom and Latin dance tutors, Mel and Chris. Chris Woodhead has qualified I.S.TD in 1997 and is a former ballroom champion. He has competed at an amateur level and knows what it’s like to come from a dancing family. Mel Earnshaw is a former British Blackpool finalist and is a student teacher working with Chris for over 5 years. With hard work and dedication, Mel has managed to work her way to the top.
We help aspiring dancers achieve their dancing goals by conducting dance classes in a friendly and professional environment. We have many years of experience in the industry and take pride in helping students realize their full potential in dancing. So, whether you are a beginner or an experienced dancer willing to brush up your skills, get in touch with us today!

We were absolute beginners, but now can waltz, cha cha cha, rumba, quickstep and jive. Mel and Chris are expert teachers, knowledgeable, patient and fun, teaching the dances in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There are also additional social events arranged to enjoy and practice the dances in a comfortable environment. If we can learn anyone can!
